After the leadership of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology caught student Riri Williams helping other students for money, her request to extend her grant for a year was rejected, and she was expelled from the educational institution. Taking with her an unfinished high-tech suit that Riri began creating from materials stolen from the institute's laboratories, she returns to her hometown of Chicago, where she is overwhelmed by grief from recent losses. In search of new meaning, Williams meets the mysterious Parker Robbins and his gang, who offer her to participate in a series of robberies. However, soon the girl will start to suspect that Robbins is not the right path for her, and in order to preserve Tony Stark's legacy and her own dignity, she will have to put on her super suit and become the one who can deal with the growing powerful enemy.
