In 1950, a luxurious carriage-bed was delivered straight from Versailles to the home of a wealthy Neapolitan family, in anticipation of the imminent birth of a baby in the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. A girl was born and she was named Partenope, after the ancient Greek nymph whom Naples was once named after. This perfect girl lived life to the fullest: she changed lovers and interests, tried to pursue a career as an actress, studied anthropology, and danced until the morning. The only event that marred the glamorous life of the beloved of fate was the suicide of her brother Raphael, who faded away in the radiance of bright Partenope.
